“You've made this day a special day, by just your being you. There's no person in the whole world like you, and I like you just the way you are.” - Fred Rogers
As a child psychotherapist, I gently guide children to see their inherent worthiness. My approach is to nurture seeds of healing, compassion, creativity, and strength to help children grow, thrive, and shape their personal stories.
I weave child-centered play therapy, narrative therapy, and expressive arts therapy into my psychotherapy process with warmth and care. I meet clients where they are and adapt to their needs to create a safe environment, being mindful of any sensory sensitivities. As a therapist who formerly worked in school-based counseling, I hold knowledge about school systems and accommodations. I'm happy to incorporate play, music, art, and writing into sessions, and I particularly enjoy working with neurodivergent, creative children. For clients fond of music, I incorporate the Celtic harp or small instruments for guided meditations, somatic resourcing, play, and self-expression.
Whether clients are seeking support for neurodivergence, anxiety, school stress, perfectionism, procrastination, trauma, grief, or any other areas of need, I am honored to walk alongside them on their therapeutic journeys.
As a second-generation Cuban American, I'm happy to hold sessions in English, Spanish, or Spanglish. I apply a multicultural lens and enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and identities. I am neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming.
I received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2024 with a Latinx Counseling emphasis, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Furman University in 2005. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an instructional designer in Silicon Valley. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and Siberian cat, writing contemporary cozy fantasy and indie songs, playing single- and double-strung Celtic harp, singing, and birdwatching. I collect obscure musical instruments, effect pedals, African violets, and cat memes.
I support children and early adolescents through age 13. And, I operate under the direction of Christina Carrick, LCSW, RPT, and under the clinical supervision of Annie Kelahan, LPC, ACS, ATR-BC.
